Spring 2019 – Healthy Half Term
We wanted to start the Spring with a Healthy Half term. We are dedicating a week to various aspects of being healthy. Week 1 was all about Healthy Eating and the children took part in lots of activities linked to this…
July 2018
We were off on our travels for the nursery trip to Brockholes. This was mostly funded by the Big Lottery Fund grant that we received a year ago. We had a fantastic time doing forest school activities linked to the story of the Gruffalo.
The children went on a Gruffalo hunt looking for the various characters hiding in the woodland.
They listened to the story of the Gruffalo and made Gruffalo masks.
April 2018
Our Family Forest School sessions have started and so far they are a big success. Kathryn and Carol from the Lancashire Wildlife Trust are leading the sessions. The children are able to show off the skills they have learnt from the nursery sessions and the parents are really seeing and feeling the benefits of Forest school.
January 2018
Our new Forest school area is finished! The children were able to go and sit in the new seating circle for a story. Future forest school sessions will take place here along with our Family Forest School which will start in April.
October 2017
In the summer of 2017 we received a grant from The Big Lottery fund. We applied for this grant so we could complete a ‘Family Forest School’ project. We love Forest school and really value the learning that takes place during the sessions we have at nursery. We wanted to share this with our families, with the money we received we were able to fund the development of a forest school area that could be used by the whole community. Here are the pictures of the work starting.
